If anyone wishes to know what is involved in gaining photographic distinctions then Colin Harrison of Cheltenham Camera Club is surely the person to ask. He has an impressive string of letters after his name, including FRPS (Fellow Of The Royal Photographic Society), EFIAP (Excellence Of The International Federation Of Photographic Art) and many more. He began entering pictorial and creative images to national and international photographic exhibitions in 1980, and, as he admits, the successful acceptance of his work became addictive and helped to provide him with challenges and the drive to keep progressing. All of this was explained to members of the Desborough And Rothwell Photographic Society on Friday 10th March, when Colin presented his talk "More Digital Adventures" with his usual charm and self-mocking humour. A tremendous variety of photographs was used in his talk, covering many genres including travels in the USA, historic re-enactments, landscape, sport and creative art. Colin is happy to pass on advice and tips to fellow photographers, and his services to photography have been recognised by an award from The Photographic Alliance Of Great Britain. As if that were not enough, he is also a member of the Licentiate, Associate and Fellowship Assessment Panels for the Royal Photographic Society. Society members were fortunate that he found time to provide such an entertaining and informative evening. He was thanked by Chairman Paul Nickerson.
