Judith and Roger Parry from Smethwick Photographic Society gave another excellent print talk to members of the Desborough And Rothwell Photographic Society on Friday 23rd June. Judith and Roger are very well known for the tireless work they do to promote amateur photography in the Midlands and beyond. Their talk "Parry Pictures" demonstrated the other reason why they are well known. They are both excellent photographers, particularly in the field of portraiture and figure studies. Their long list of exhibition successes, awards and medals is testimony to this. The talk began with landscape prints, images taken at living museums such as the Black Country Museum, often with characters such as "The Ragged Victorians", and then pictures from the Venice Carnival. But the talk soon moved on to their real forte, and members were treated to a masterclass in portraiture and art nude photography. Chairman Paul Nickerson thanked Judith and Roger for an excellent evening.
