Sarah Howard of "Image Scene" is an accomplished landscape photographer, and runs workshops throughout the year for people wishing to improve and perfect their landscape photography. On Friday 7th July Sarah visited the Desborough And Rothwell Photographic Society to give its members an introduction to her approach to capturing landscape images. She emphasised the need for research, preparation and planning, being in the right place at the right time, the need for some legwork, and having the right light and a good composition. The images she chose to illustrate her ideas covered many photogenic parts of England, Wales and Scotland, as well as Italy, France, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand and Vietnam. Apart from mentioning the need for a tripod there was a refreshing lack of camera equipment details and requirements, with the old adage that "the best camera is the one you have with you at the time". Chairman Paul Nickerson thanked Sarah for a very instructive and entertaining evening.
