Desborough & Rothwell Photographic Society is an established photographic club founded in 1927. We are members of the Midland Counties Photographic Federation and we are also affiliated to the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain.
We are a small friendly club, and anyone over the age of 16 is welcome, regardless of their abilities or whether they are amateur or professional. It doesn’t matter whether you use a mobile phone or a top of the range DSLR to take your photos as it is only the image produced that matters. Help can be offered to anyone requesting it on any photographic problem, whether it’s about using their cameras or processing and manipulating their images. Help can be offered on a one to one basis if preferred.
We meet on a Friday night most weeks of the year. Our annual programme consists of talks from external photographers, competitions which include digital projected images, mobile phone images and prints. We have speakers showing their work and giving tips on how they create their images, which helps us to produce ours both in camera and in post-production. We have an annual external exhibition showing our work to the general public so that they can see what we do.
If you like what you have seen and read, then why not pop along for a couple of weeks and see for yourself? The cost is just £3 on the night, which includes a coffee or tea and biscuits halfway through the evening. After 4 weeks you can become a member for just £25 yearly which allows you to enter our competitions. Hope to see you soon!
